Privacy Policy
Last Update: January 06, 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how Agentic Studio handles information for the public website at
agenticstudio.dev and the Agentic Studio macOS desktop app. Agentic Studio is a local-first desktop
application for running and governing autonomous agents on your own machine.
1. Scope
This policy covers two separate surfaces:
- The marketing website, documentation site, and download links hosted under
agenticstudio.dev. - The Agentic Studio desktop app, which runs locally on your Mac.
The desktop app is materially different from a typical hosted SaaS product. In its standard desktop setup, the app runs locally, stores its own data locally, and does not require an Agentic Studio cloud account to function.
2. Information We Collect on the Website
When you visit the website, we may collect limited usage information such as page views, referrers, and general browser or device information. The website currently includes Plausible Analytics to measure traffic and understand which pages are useful.
We do not describe the website as a full hosted application account system today, and this policy does not assume account creation, billing, Google Workspace access, or workflow-hosting features that are not part of the current desktop product.
3. Information Handled by the Desktop App
The desktop app stores operational data locally on your Mac. Depending on how you use the product, that local data may include organization data, agent definitions, tasks, comments, goals, projects, activity logs, local secrets, runtime logs, and automatic database backups.
On macOS, desktop runtime data is stored under Agentic Studio's Application Support directory, including data for the default local instance.
4. Local-First Operation
Agentic Studio is designed to run locally. In the standard desktop mode, the app launches a bundled local backend and opens the UI inside the native desktop shell. Data such as the database, logs, secrets, and backups remains on your machine unless you explicitly configure external services or export data yourself.
The desktop app also exposes local controls to open data and logs folders, export backups, restart the local backend, and reset the local instance.
5. External Providers and Runtimes
Agentic Studio can orchestrate third-party agent runtimes and external model providers. Depending on your configuration, agents may run through tools and services such as Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Gemini, Cursor, Pi, local process-based runtimes, or HTTP integrations.
If you configure an agent to call an external provider or service, the prompts, code, files, comments, and other data you route through that integration may be sent to that provider as part of the work you asked the agent to do. That provider's own terms and privacy practices will apply to the data sent to it.
6. Authentication and Accounts
The desktop app supports a local trusted mode and can also be deployed in authenticated mode. In local trusted mode, the app is intended for local use without ordinary sign-up friction. In authenticated deployments, user session and account information such as email address, password-based credentials, and session cookies may be processed to allow sign-in and access control for that deployment.
If you are using a self-hosted or authenticated deployment rather than the standard local desktop flow, the operator of that deployment is responsible for the deployment configuration, its access controls, and any additional notices required for users of that deployment.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The marketing website may use analytics-related scripts and standard web technologies necessary to serve pages and understand basic website usage. The desktop app itself is not presented as an advertising product, and we do not describe it as using ad-tech or cross-site tracking cookies.
8. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- operate and improve the public website and documentation,
- measure high-level website traffic and product interest,
- operate the desktop app's local runtime on your device,
- store local configuration, logs, and backups needed for the desktop app to function, and
- support user-requested integrations with third-party agent or model providers.
9. Data Sharing
We do not describe the current desktop product as uploading your local app data to Agentic Studio-operated servers by default. Information may still be shared in the following cases:
- with analytics providers used on the public website,
- with third-party providers you explicitly configure through adapters or integrations,
- with hosting or infrastructure providers used to serve the website or documentation, and
- when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the service.
10. Retention
Website analytics and operational website logs may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate, measure, and secure the website.
Desktop app data is primarily retained locally on your machine until you delete it, export it, or reset the local instance. If you use authenticated or self-hosted deployments, retention may also depend on how that deployment is configured by its operator.
11. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the website and the software we distribute. The desktop app's privacy posture is strengthened by local-first storage, but no software or transmission method is perfectly secure. You are responsible for securing the machine, accounts, API keys, and external integrations you use with Agentic Studio.
12. Your Choices
You can stop using the website at any time. For the desktop app, you can review local data, open logs, export backups, revoke or rotate external provider credentials, or delete local app data by resetting the local instance.
13. Children's Privacy
Agentic Studio is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly solicit personal information from children.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the website, desktop app, or deployment options change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
